Welcome to The Library @ The Nest!  My name is Ms. Francis.  I love being a Nighthawk already!  This is my 4th year working with middle school students, previous I taught 7th grade at River Oaks Middle School down the road.  I grew up in Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University and I am currently receiving my MLIS from the University of South Carolina. 

 

Ms. Pridgen is our amazing, super, fantastic, wonderful, awesome, magnificent, fantastic, terrific, helpful, AND bilingual media clerk.  She's lived in NC, CA, and now SC.  Ms. Pridgen cheers for Duke and the Eagles!The Library @ The Nest is lucky to have her.

The library is an exciting place for students and faculty!  Reading, writing, researching, thinking, questioning, learning, creating, and sharing are all part of our information usage in the library.  Please explore and use this website and visit the library frequently.  There's always something happening in The Library @ The Nest!  If you have any questions or ideas, just let me know.

Hours 

The library policies are designed based on American Association of School Librarians standards and state curriculum standards, along with local CCSD policies and the Library Bill of Rights.  These are intended to meet students' reading, learning, and informational needs.  Detailed information about these ideas as well as the collection development policy and book challenge policy can be found here.

Thursday           8:00-4:00

The Library @ The Nest is at the center of our learning community.  It creates and promotes a culture of readers within our school.  The Library @ The Nest supports all curriculum areas and encourages students’ reading and learning for both information and pleasure.  To meet our school’s diverse learning needs and to create a culturally open environment, a wide range of materials in many formats is available in our library and online.  Being able to efficiently access and effectively make use of information ensures all Nighthawk students can learn and grow @ The Nest.
